Abstract

This paper deals with a problem of parameter identification for reconfigura ble flight control systems designed using the normalized coprime factorization method. The identification method s employed are closed -loop one s, one is the coprime factorization method and the other is unscented Kalman filter. The -gap metric is chosen as a criterion that indicates the effects of failures on stabilizability of the robust control system. The -gap metric can be computed using the identified parameters and utilized to decide whether control reconfigurations should be done . To compare the eff ectiveness of the control and identification method s, a simple design example and simulation results are shown.
