Abstract

This paper presents a parameter tuning method for a double-sided LCC compensated wireless power transfer system using constant resonant frequency approach. It also compares output power levels of the newly tuned system with a system designed by a conventional tuning method. The proposed tuning method uses constant frequency approach in designing the compensation blocks, improving the output power level of the wireless power transfer system. The proposed tuning method is applied to a study system consisting of an LCC compensation topology both in the primary and secondary side. The test system investigates the output power level of the system considering the variation in coupling coefficient. The study results based on a time-domain simulation show the improved output power level of the newly tuned system in comparison to a wireless power transfer system designed by a conventional method.
