Abstract

This paper presents a new cost-effective, high power density dc-dc converter for magnetron power supply applications. The proposed dc-dc converter consists of three main circuitry; front-end quasi-resonant flyback converter, high-frequency transformer, and diode rectifier circuit. Experimental results are provided to verify the superiority of the proposed converter under 200 W/4 kV magnetron operations. The magnetron power supply, based on the proposed soft-switched converter, has achieved an overall efficiency of 85%.
