Abstract

A compact wideband dual-polarized antenna with stable radiation patterns for 2G/3G/4G (LTE)base station application is presented. The proposed antenna consists of two dipoles printed on a square-shaped PCB boards. The dipoles are carefully designed by introducing additional stubs at both ends of the arms of each dipole. It could be adjusted by tuning the coupling structures to achieve compact size and enhance the bandwidth. It is shown that the dual-polarized base-station antenna has a bandwidth of 50% (1.69-2.81 GHz)for return loss greater than 15 dB. A high isolation of 40 dB is obtained between the dual-polarization ports. Stable radiation patterns in both the vertical and horizontal plane are obtained over the entire frequency band.
