Abstract

In this paper, a new method for suppressing the first spurious passband in microstrip hairpin filter is proposed. For this purpose, meandered shaped coupled lines are used instead of conventional coupled lines. Furthermore, by using this method, a size reduction of 50% is achieved. Simulated and measured results show that the modified bandpass hairpin filter presents a rejection level exceeding 35 dB in the first spurious passband.
