Abstract

AbstractIn this article, a compact antenna with stack geometry for Bluetooth application was proposed and experimentally studied. The antenna consists of a lower patch at the bottom layer, an upper patch at the top layer, and a via that connects the two layers. The effect of various parameters on the top and bottom patch antennas for Bluetooth application is investigated. From the results of the experiments, the measured impedance bandwidth, defied by VSWR 1:3, can reach an operating bandwidth of 170 MHz (2.37–2.54 GHz). Also, antenna radiation patterns and gains within the operating band were measured and studied. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
