Abstract

This paper presents a textile antenna of circular polarization, operating in the WLAN 2.4GHz to 2. 5GHz band, for RF energy harvesting applications. The proposed antenna comprises of an L-shaped radiator incorporated on a jeans cloth, which is used as a substrate. Circular polarization of the antenna is realized through an L-shaped slot on the ground plane. Radiator and ground plane are attained through an adhesive copper sheet of 0.0 5mm. Dimensions of the jeans cloth are considered as 60mm×60mm×1mm. This antenna achieves a simulated -10dB reflection coefficient in the frequency range of 2.24GHz to 2.64GHz, which covers the intended WBAN and WLAN bands. The 3dB axial ratio bandwidth of the antenna is 300MHz (2.21GHz - 2. 55GHz). The maximum peak gain and radiation efficiency of the antenna are 4.2 5dBi and 97%, respectively. Besides, the antenna shows bi-directional ration patters in XZ - plane and YZ - plane.
