Abstract
The upcoming fifth generation of mobile communication (5G) that can future enhance the capacity and data rats requires novel antennas. In this paper, three novel zeroth-order resonator-based (ZOR) Circularly Polarized (CP) antennas were proposed as candidates for 5G terminal applications. The radii of the antennas are 0.125λ, 0.16λ and 0.22λ, respectively. All of the antennas radiate omni-directional patterns. The prototype of the proposed antennas had been studied. The reflection coefficient and axial ratio of antenna are simulated. For antenna 1, the bandwidth of return loss is from 24.86GHz to 25.09GHz (230MHz), and axial ratio (AR) bandwidth is from 24GHz to 26GHz (2GHz). For antenna 2 and antenna 3, the bandwidth of return loss are from 24.87GHz to 25.2 GHz (330MHz) and 24.27GHz to 24.62GHz (350MHz), respectively. And AR bandwidths are from 24.3GHz to 26.2GHz (1.9GHz) and 24.25Ghz to 25.35 GHz (1.1GHz), respectively. All antennas achieve circular polarization performance and omni-directional radiation within the operational band.
