Abstract

The design of a wideband dual-polarized slot-coupled stacked patch microstrip antenna array with high isolation and cross-polarization is presented. The patches are excited by two orthogonally placed H-shaped slots, beneath the stacked square patch. In addition, in the dual-polarized antenna, some metallic vias are inserted between the polarized feeding networks to improve isolation of the two polarized ports. The simulated isolation is better than 46.9dB over the bandwidth of 20% with cross-polarization level less than −46dB in both E and H planes. Also, the scan performance and VSWR of the antenna are presented.
