Abstract
This article proposes the design of a Bethe-hole (BH) directional coupler using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technique. The design can readily be coupled with, for instance, an antenna and is therefore suitable for millimeter-wave communication systems. Good agreements have been achieved between simulated and experimental results for a 25-dB BH SIW coupler operating in the X-band.
