Abstract

A single band micro-strip patch antenna is designed and simulated for Indian regional navigational satellite systems(IRNSS) receiver. IRNSS positioning and precision services signals uses L5(1.176GHz) and S(2.492GHz) bands. So a simplified design of single band micro-strip patch antenna is proposed and simulated as per the specifications of IRNSS receiver modules. In addition to it, the micro-strip patch antenna is fed using co-axial feed mechanism and various properties like return loss, VSWR, axial ratio, gain and radiation pattern are discussed.
