Abstract

Electric cars (EVs) have established themselves as the most practical, ecologically acceptable substitute for conventional automobiles, and they are now widely accepted on the market. Recent improvements in the field of electric vehicles are mostly driven by different control realizations. From the standpoint of the controller designer, the model should be basic enough to permit easy implementation of model-based controllers while yet being able to contain the fundamental dynamics. The proposed model will be implemented in MATLAB/Simulink since all the components of the model are available in that software and all the tools related to our project were available for free. Also, leading car manufacturers such as Tesla use MATLAB / Simulink to optimise their designs and power trains adding reliability to this work.
