Abstract
The efficiency of switched reluctance generator (SRG) is related to stator and rotor core shapes and its control method. This paper focuses a rotor core design improving efficiency. First inductance curves of high efficient switched reluctance motor (SRM) are calculated by using magnetic field analysis with 2D finite element method. Next the inductance curves are used as the Simulink model of SRM. Also the modified inductance curves [1] are evaluated to find out a suitable inductance curve improving the efficiency of SRG. After comparing the efficiencies for modified inductance curves, the most suitable inductance curve is selected. Then a new rotor core shape is designed to match the selected suitable inductance curve. Furthermore the efficiency of SRG using the designed rotor core shape is improved.
