Abstract
In this paper, we discuss about currently ongoing shifts of design principles of human-machine systems for realizing biologically-inspired symbiotic coordination. Especially, we investigate into an architecture of an interface agent. Since an agent has to coexist with a human user so that it can evolve by itself as a human user’s proficient level improves and can stimulate a human user’s creativeness coordinately by changing its role dynamically as a human’s associate, some novel architectures from the conventional stand-alone intelligent systems are required. We discuss about this new styles of coordination among human and automated agents from perspectives of social dimensions of the human-machine cooperation, and our ongoing researches on the design of interface agent is presented.
