Abstract

In order to evaluate and guide the traffic behaviors of traffic participants in China sensibly, it is important to design a traffic behavior safety evaluation and decision support system (TBSE-DSS). First, four subsystems (Dialogue Generation and Management Subsystem, Database Management Subsystem, Model Base Management Subsystem, Problem Oriented Analysis Subsystem) of TBSE-DSS and function modules belonging to these subsystems were proposed based on the fundamental structure of the decision support system and the analysis of questionnaire survey data of traffic behavior safety. Then, using the IDEF0 modeling technique, a general design framework for TBSE-DSS was proposed to describe the whole system as well as the function modules systemically and structurally, and three levels of hierarchical decomposition structure are presented. The IDEF0 models of TBSE-DSS can provide both system structure and information flow for further detailed design and software development.
