Abstract

The multiple opposing jets play good roles in both drag reduction and thermal protection, while they own strong three-dimensional effect. Therefore, in this analysis, the multiple opposing jets are applied to a blunted waverider, and their influence on the aerodynamic performance and heat flux is evaluated through numerical study. The obtained results show that the lift-to-drag ratio of the blunted waverider with multiple opposing jets is better than that with a single jet or just a blunted waverider, and the peak heat flux is reduced further by adjusting the value of the pressure ratio. The lift-to-drag ratio of the blunted waverider with multiple opposing jets improves by 2.5% when compared with the blunted waverider without jet. The flight attitude with small angle of attack is conducive to improve the aerodynamic performance of the blunted waverider with multiple opposing jet. The maximum lift-to-drag ratio appears when the angle of attack is 1°, and it increases by 3%.
