Abstract
Three large volume TPCs based on Micro-Pattern Gaseous Detectors will be used in the T2K neutrino oscillation experiment. The recent Bulk-MICROMEGAS technology has been chosen as primary electron collection and gas amplification device. The first TPC is already built and successfully tested with cosmic rays and beam at the TRIUMF facility. Design and construction aspects of the T2K TPCs are briefly described together with the expected detector performance. Electronic noise measurements and overall detector performance including space point resolution and deposited energy resolution are also presented.
