Abstract
In this study, the design considerations of linear magnetic actuators for a hybrid-type active mount damper (AMD) are proposed to reduce the transmitted force from naval shipboard equipment to the hull structure. The hybrid-type AMD comprises viscoelastic passive element and a linear electromagnetic actuator. The required actuator force is evaluated and discussed in detail through vibration measurements of the target pump system. In the initial design, three types of linear electromagnetic actuators were considered. Then, based on the design considerations, the optimum design in terms of shock resistance and interference with the mover and stator was proposed.
