Abstract

Using Wizard of Oz techniques, designers can efficiently test location-enhanced application prototypes during the early stages of design, without building a full-fledged application or deploying a sensing infrastructure. Location-enhanced applications adapt their behavior to or provide information about the location of people, places, and things. Such location-enhanced applications are the most widely adopted type of ubicomp application; analysts predict that their use will grow tremendously in the near future.
