Abstract

We propose and measure a multiple transmission bands metasurface with double metal disks arrays in THz range. Four transmission peaks (with amplitudes 83%, 80%, 73%, and 71%) are achieved at resonance frequencies 26.06 THz, 31.52 THz, 40.14 THz, and 44.42 THz, respectively. Electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) effect hybridization can be achieved based on the coupling and interference between the bright and dark modes distributed on metal disks. Four EIT hybridizations are revealed based on four coupling combinations of metal disks. Moreover, four transmission peaks are excited by EIT effect hybridizations. In the first set of experiments, the radius of metal disks is gradually increased, transmission peaks are moved toward low frequencies, while the amplitudes are increased. In the second set of experiments, the linear distance between the centers of the metal disks is gradually reduced, resulting in transmission peaks also moving toward low frequencies, and amplitudes also enhancing. These transmission resonance behaviors are mainly based on the enhancement of EIT hybridizations with structural parameter changing. The influence of the radius of the metal disk on the four transmission peaks is higher than that of the linear distance.
