Abstract

This paper presents the design process and usability evaluation of one of the modules of 3DGEN technology: 3DGEN Viewer, which is responsible for loading and deploying virtual environments. 3DGEN is a platform developed by the GITI research group of the Universidad Autonoma de Occidente (Colombia) for the generation, publication and management of multi-user virtual environments. In addition, this paper presents some recommendations and lessons learned to be considered when performing usability evaluations in multi-user virtual environments that are explored by an avatar and provide different opportunities for interaction through 3D objects.
