Abstract

The temperature drift of measurement accuracy is one of the primary causes in the practical process of optical voltage sensor. This paper presents a kind of self-healing optical voltage sensor technology to overcome above problem. The technology combines self-healing and optical voltage sensing techniques to implement the synchronous compensation of disturbing birefringence and the transistor half-wave voltage. This technology can implement the automatic compensation of temperature, improving the whole performance of sensor while need not considering the influence of ambient temperature. The test results show that the accuracy of both the self-healing optical voltage sensor and the ordinary optical voltage sensor can reach to 0.1 grades in the room temperature. But at range of 25 °C temperature changes, the ration error of the ordinary optical voltage sensor is far less than 0.5 grades, while the self-healing optical voltage sensor's measurement accuracy still remains at 0.1 grades. The results confirm the validity of the scheme for self-healing optical voltage sensor.
