Abstract

Conformal traveling wave slot array can be used in radar and communication systems. The cylindrical conformal traveling wave slot array antenna at 35 GHz is designed and calculated in this paper. A 6×48 array antenna is designed by the array antenna theory and the Taylor distribution. At the center frequency 35 GHz, the gain is 25.59 dB with a −17 dB sidelobe level and the beam direction is 45°. From 34.5 GHz to 35.5 GHz, the beam direction is only about 1° maximum difference. The simulation results can provide a design reference for the practical design of cylindrical conformal antennas used on craft.
