Abstract
In this paper, a log periodic dipole array antenna operating in between 3 GHz to 13 GHz has been designed and proposed for better VSWR, return loss, directivity and efficiency. The proposed LPDA has been designed over aluminum (lossy-metal) with dielectric constant of 1.6 to 1. 8. The scaling factor, the spacing factor and the apex angle are taken as 0.86, 0.16 and 12.34 degrees respectively. The proposed LPDA Antenna has been simulated and the performance is analyzed by using CST Microwave Studio. It provides minimum return loss, maximum directivity, maximum gain and minimum VSWR of -29.276dB, 12.S1dBi, 13.17 dBi and 1.07 respectively.
