Abstract

This paper proposed the design and optimization of parallel DC-DC system for high power applications. A current-driven phase shift full bridge (CD-PSFB) converter with fewer components, lower voltage stress and no snubber is chosen as one of the modules in parallel system and several attractive features that are fit for parallel are analyzed in detail. The amount of CD-PSFB module is first selected for efficiency-optimized purpose, then take advantage of the fast primary-current responding feature of the CD-PSFB, the parallel-current-shared and current-limited control loops design can be improved. Finally, by using the fast energy transportation feature, a load-depended turning-on-and-off strategy for parallel modules is designed to compromise the efficiency and dynamic response of the parallel system. A 2KW prototype is built up to verify the analysis.
