Abstract

Magnetic bearings have been applied in aerospace, new energy, bioscience, industry fields for the advantages of no-friction, no-lubrication, high speed, high accuracy, long service life and so on. The three-pole radial-axial hybrid magnetic bearing (HMB) is proposed to reduce the axial length of the magnetic bearings [1]. As the axial length of shaft is reduced, the critical speed can be increased. Besides, three-pole radial-axial HMB combines the advantages of hybrid and three-pole magnetic bearing [2], [3]. So three-pole radial-axial HMB has great research value.
