Abstract

Prostate cancer is one of the major cancers affecting men in India. After lung cancer, prostate cancer has caused the largest number of deaths in India. Nanowire is used as biosensor for detection of cancers. In this paper, we present a design for a nanowire array sensor for prostate cancer detection. A sensor array of 8 × 8 elements is designed to capture the Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) present in the blood that helps in detecting the presence of prostate cancer. An experimental setup is developed using a biosensors lab from Nanohub.org. Based on the experimental setup, the nanowire sensor is characterised for PSA detection. The sensitivity of detection is increased by use of a sensor array.
