Abstract

Large scale synchronous load-lifting systems are in growing demands since they have unique advantages in reconstruction of massive bridges or buildings. However, the traditional lifting systems suffers severe energy consumption. This paper designs a new type of Electro-Hydrostatic Actuators(EHA) using double variable pump and accumulators with designated pressures specified for heavy lifting systems. The designed EHA balances part of the gravity loads with accumulators, overwhelmingly inducing the energy consumption. The motor speed and the pump displacement can be adjusted synchronously, thus, the EHA system will have greater range of regulation and control redundancy. Based on analysis of the working principle of the designed EHA, the complete mathematical model of the pump controlled asymmetric cylinder is established.
