Abstract

A quick and accurate design approach of direct-coupled cavity bandpass filters is presented in this paper. The synthesis equations to determine the essential parameters of the filter are given. In order to verify the proposed design approach, a 24 GHz direct-coupled cavity waveguide bandpass filter is designed and simulated. Then the implementation of this bandpass filter with SIW structure is presented with compact sizes and better frequency responses. Simulation results show that the passband of the SIW filter is from 23.4GHz to 24.6GHz, the insertion loss is less than 0.6dB and the return loss is less than -22dB.
