Abstract
Extensive aquaculture has been used in Chinese aquaculture farms for a long time. Inefficient and high consumption are main shortcomings for this aquaculture type. This paper designed and implemented an aquatic parameters real-time monitoring and management system based on water quality sensors, wireless sensor network and information management technologies. The system can monitor water quality parameters in real-time and automatically (or manual) control aquaculture equipment according timing, threshold or mobile short message service. Also, according to different aquaculture objects, the system provides one-stop information services as aquaculture disease warning and diagnosis, bait feeding etc. The applications in eight different regions in China have proved the system can effectively improve the intensive aquaculture informatization level and realized the whole process of aquaculture information management.
