Abstract

Due to its advantages of light weight, small size and short launch period, etc., microsatellite is widely applied in military and civil fields. In order to further improve the data processing ability of microsatellite and optimize the integrated electronic system architecture, this paper presents a satellite CAN bus communication system which is suitable for microsatellite. Based on the FPGA module of SmartFusion2 chip, this design implements the IP core expansion of CAN bus, and carries out the dual redundancy design of two-stage bus, which can increase the integration of satellite system while improving the reliability and stability of communication network, and can be applied to the integrated design of satellite operation and attitude control. According to CAN communication protocol, CAN communication function is designed, which can be adopted for data polling, data processing, communication fault diagnosis and other operations. Finally, the rationality and reliability of the hardware and software design are verified by connecting the onboard computer with the real-time simulator to conduct joint simulation, thus meeting the design requirements.
