Abstract

Around the world, city, state, governments and public sector groups, are leading the way in taking the Internet of Thing (IoT) to existence and improving the lives of citizens everywhere. Currently 21 billion devices are connected, for 2025the installed base of IoE devices is forecast to grow to almost 76 billion worldwide. In such complex and dense networks must have the capability to provide the services in any conditions and should not stop function the task. To guarantee the services in real applications a dynamic and intelligent fault tolerance mechanism is required for software defined IoT. This paper addresses the issues of fault tolerance in IoT and design a novel artificial intelligence based fault tolerance mechanism supports software defined IoT architecture in presence of various failures like networks failure. The natural redundancy of functionality across devices, software and hardware within the home, as well as usage scenarios are exploited. Fault tolerance is achieved via backup of data on different virtual machines to maintain connectivity in case of network failures between the devices. The presented fault tolerance technique covers network failure, device failure and traffic bottleneck situations only.
