Abstract

The application of direct torque control with space vector modulation technique (DTCSVM) to induction motor drives has been investigated extensively in the literature. This paper describes its embedded implementation based on 16 bits fixed point digital signal processor (DSP), and compares experimental results with those obtained by simulation using Matlab-Simulink. The result of this work shows the performances obtained using a low cost DSP (dsPIC30F family). The control uses four sensors: a tachymeter sensor for rotor speed capture, two phase motor current sensors and a DC bus voltage sensor. The estimation of electromagnetic torque and stator flux is performed using the open loop method. Simulated and experimental results are presented at the end of this paper.
