Abstract

A systematic design approach for the implementation of a microcontroller based data logger for recording fuzzy logic controller (FLC) variables is presented. In this system a fuzzy logic controller and data logger circuit are designed together. The debugged FLC program is firstly transmitted to the controller. During working mode, sampled data from the controlled system is saved temporarily on a PC or external memory. The data which is obtained from the working system is evaluated in PC for the optimization of the FLC. In this way the FLC can be optimized by using genetic algorithms or neural networks in software environments. As a summary, a fuzzy logic controller is used as a main controller and a DC/DC converter is selected as the plant that the fuzzy control is applied to. The designed circuit is portable and can be used in field application of the FLC. On the other hand, the complete system can be used as a fuzzy training set.
