Abstract

Automatic sleep staging is the basis of research on sleep diseases and related diseases. Therefore, it is of great significance to design and implement a highly accurate correlation algorithm. At present, automatic sleep staging monitoring based on electroencephalogram(EEG) signals has achieved high accuracy, but EEG acquisition instruments are not only expensive, but also need to be operated by professionals, and it is difficult to develop in the direction of home use. Electrocardiogram(ECG) signal acquisition is more economical and convenient than EEG signal. Therefore, this paper proposes an automatic sleep staging algorithm based on ECG signal. After collecting ECG signals, the signal preprocessing, feature extraction and pattern recognition stages were improved on the basis of traditional automatic sleep staging to improve the accuracy of automatic sleep staging. The experimental results show that the automatic sleep staging algorithm designed and implemented in this paper has high accuracy. Automatic sleep staging with high accuracy based on single - channel ECG signals is possible.
