Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of a wideband C-band digital array module. The main components of the digital array module, including wideband digital T/R module, frequency synthesizer and power module, are discussed in detail. At reasonable design cost and effort, the proposed module with a relatively compact size and flexible design is fabricated based on field programmable gate array. In this paper, a high intermediate frequency wideband signal is generated based on direct digital synthesizer in a polyphase structure by using coordinated rotation digital computer algorithm. What is more, a wideband waveform real-time delay compensation technique based on variable fractional delay filter is proposed to satisfy the beamforming requirement. At last, simulations and experiments verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed wideband digital array module. The measurement results in this paper will help to a better understanding of the wideband digital array radar.
