Abstract

A battery module diagnostic system with low-cost and compact configuration is proposed. The proposed diagnostic system consists of a MCU, a signal capturing circuit, a HMI (human machine interface)and a sinusoidal load. To validate the dynamic characteristics of a lithium battery module, the proposed wide-range slew-rate sinusoidal load is served as a test load. In this study, the extracted energy from the tested battery module during diagnostic process can be recycled to save energy. In addition, all the battery module parameters and test conditions can be preset in the HMI, the battery characteristics and the recycling rate of the electrical energy also can be estimated. All the analysis of operation modes, simulations, and some experimental results are used to verify the theoretical predictions.
