Abstract
Investigations for the development of new liquid green hypergolic propellants are carried out by the Propellants department of DLR Lampoldshausen. One part of the development includes testing of new propellants under flowing conditions to determine the ignition delay time. Therefore an injector test setup was designed and put into operation. For first hypergolic ignition tests a proven hypergolic propellant consisting of Block 0 and highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide was chosen. Drop tests with Block 0 and hydrogen peroxide were conducted. The average ignition delay time was 20.5 ms. For tests under flowing conditions a 2on1 impinging injector was designed and manufactured. The minimum ignition delay time during injector tests was 190 ms.
