Abstract

The use of multiple antenna system for wireless communication has gained huge interest during the last decade. Main purpose of this work is to replace the requirement of single antenna based mechanical rotary arrangement and duplexer from conventional tracking system in RADAR applications with multiple antenna based system (MAS). The proposed MAS structure in single input multiple output (SIMO) configuration, is basically a smart antenna system to exploit spatial diversity scheme. One monopole rod antenna has been used as single input and eight numbers of electromagnetic coupled microstrip circular patch antennas as multiple output antenna. The system has been designed and simulated in S Band using the software tool Ansoft HFSS and developed by photolithography based wet chemistry process. Test and measurement carried out in compact antenna test range facility. Simulation and measurement results have been presented and found to be satisfactory.
