Abstract

The agricultural field is of great importance and is therefore in demand with an ever increasing global population. The efficient production of agricultural products greatly depends on the soil conditions. Therefore developing a wireless system to monitor the soil conditions as well as developing a robotic car to move on the field to supply water according to the soil conditions is the most challenging task using NI myrio. This paper presents a solution that will help in reducing the human labor. NI myrio has Wifi feature and thus wireless data transfer is possible. NI myRIO is heart of the proposed work which is used for controlling and monitoring the field conditions and thus is capable of collecting and presenting the data on Graphical User Interface (GUI) which is programmed with LabVIEW. In this system, two myRIO's are used, one will move with the robot car and the other will remain static with the water supply section. Communication between the two myRIO's is achieved using shared variable concept. Further, the solenoid valves are controlled with the data on the GUI. The movable system on the field makes the overall system low cost.
