Design and development of a simple solar dehydrator for crop drying

Abstract

In this paper, a simple solar collector cum crop drying system is described. The categorical objectives of this paper are (1) to identify a suitable medium capacity solar drying system and (2) to study analytically and experimentally the performance characteristics of this newly fabricated solar drying system. The drying ratio, rehydration ratio, culinary and organoleptic characteristics, of Methi and Bhendi crops were studied and presented in this paper.
