Abstract

The fabrication of the renewable galinstan silver based film electrode (G(Ag)FE) and its application for voltammetric determination of lead, bismuth and thallium ions in acetate buffer solution are presented. One drop of galinstan is placed in the sensor body, which had been filled with the saturated solution of sodium sulfite. The procedure of mechanical refreshing the galinstan film involves pulling the silver wire inside, through the galinstan chamber, and then pushing it back outside the sensor body. It provides very good surface reproducibility and it enables Pb2+, Bi3+ and Tl+ determination in the micromolar concentration levels using short preconcentration times.
