Abstract

In this paper a Non-isolated Bidirectional DC-DC converter is presented which can be used to transfer energy between different sources in both direction and it can be used for application which requires charging and discharging of battery. In this paper design of suitable control strategy of a non-isolated bidirectional DC-DC converter is described. The given converter has simple structure and it is having high voltage gain. Four number of power switches are used in the proposed converter along with passive components such as a capacitor and two inductors. The proposed converter voltage gain is high compared to conventional converter in step-up mode. This bidirectional converter will be used to transfer energy between battery bank and PMDC machine. Design of converter has done for given rating and steady state response is analyzed. Closed loop simulation of proposed converter using PID controller is done using Matlab Simulink.
