Abstract

Due to the high level of population of the Indonesian citizen affecting the necessities of the Indonesian citizen, one of which is the needs for electricity., the government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources made PERMEN ESDM number 7 of 2015 concerning the application of minimum energy performance standards and the inclusion of energy-saving labeling for air conditioning (AC) equipment that refers to SNI 19 -6713-2002 and adapted from ISO 5151. The performance of testing method that used in this system is the air enthalpy method. In using the air enthalpy method requires an isolated test chamber to reach the required temperature (°C) and humidity (% RH), the rooms called psychometric chamber. The standard condition for testing the indoor air conditioning room (evaporator) is 27°C with 47% of RH while, the standard for the air inside outdoor conditioning room (condenser) is 35°C and the % RH is not required for the test. The tool that used to control temperature and humidity in the room is an Air Handling Unit (AHU) which consists of a filter, cooling coil, humidifier, coil heater, and air blower. The AHU filter is used to filter the airs that enter the AHU. AHU which is used is connected to Chiller to regulate the temperature of the water flowing on the cooling coil and heating coil using a heat recovery system which aims to control the air temperature that will flow to the testing room by adjusting the percentage of opening area of the motorized valve that connected to the coils. The humidifier that installed inside AHU splashes water to increase the humidity of the air that will enter the heating coil. The temperature and the humidity of air that has been conditioned are blown into the room with blower. The parameters that used for this conditioning room are variable storage capacity, humidification, and heating capacity.
