Abstract
A novel output coupler for the broadband operation of sheet beam travelling wave tubes (SB-TWTs), which consists of a L-bend waveguide, a muti-stage stepped waveguide and a cascaded Bragg resonator, is proposed, analyzed and cold tested in this paper. Simulated results have shown that maximum relative bandwidth for isolation under −15dB can reach 26%. A Q-band output coupler is cold tested and measured results have a good agreement with the simulated ones.
