Abstract

Optical communication plays an important role in the power backbone communication network. As its only carrier, optical cable ensures the safe and stable operation of power grid. This paper first introduces the current status of optical cable network. Then the online monitoring mode of optical cable is introduced, and the overall architecture of optical cable monitoring system that suitable for the power grid company is proposed. Finally, application results of the monitoring system are given. The results show that the monitoring system proposed in this paper greatly reduced the repair time length of optical cable.
