Abstract

A designing strategy of a fuzzy controller with PI regulator, which has been successfully applied to a C200H PLC-based automatic position control system for an aluminum plate roughing mill, is presented. The theoretical analysis of the PI regulator and the simulation study of the fuzzy controller are respectively put forward. The software and hardware structures, the configuration of the PLC, and the practical operation results are also described. The features of the system are quick dynamic response, low cost, high reliability, and simple and flexible operation. The positioning accuracy of the system is within 0.02 mm.
