Abstract

This paper presents design of printed dipole antenna with three different configuration of integrated balun which provides wideband performance at Ultra High Frequency (UHF) range. The dipole with integrated balun is designed to achieve a wide bandwidth in UHF frequency band. The design consists of printed dipole structure with variation in balun which exhibits different characteristics according to its design structure over the UHF range. Feed of dipole elements requires a balanced to unbalanced transformer (balun) which acts as a transition and impedance transformer. The dipoles with integrated balun are “printed” on a Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 ( $\boldsymbol{\varepsilon} \mathbf{r}=2.2$ ) 31mil thick substrate.
