Abstract

This project emphasis on design of a manifold to incorporate Stratified Fuel injection into a two stroke petrol engine. The inlet and exhaust ports of the two stroke engine are replaced by the manifold. An in-depth literature survey on types of fuel injection system with special emphasis on Stratified Fuel Injection Technique. The conceptual design for a two stroke petrol Engine central around incorporating the proposed changes to intake and exit of charge. The fresh charge intake is based of stratified fuel injection technique. The concept is further proposed in detail with theoretically appropriates design of the concept proposed. The data for this design is based of the mass produced Honda RX 100 two stroke engine. The design components viz. the piston and connecting rod are structurally analysed based on research data from ref (2) and ref (1) respectively. Thermal analysis of the manifold is performed based on research data from ref (2).
