Abstract

Reconfigurable antennas widely used for adaptive systems and it attracts the subject of many researchers. It is well suitable for wireless communication application such as 4G, 5G and WiMax UWB. The current changes take place on antenna structure by using active elements like: Varactor or PIN diode, MEMS (Microelectromechanical system) and photoconductive elements. These active elements are used to an antenna for changing its operational frequency, polarization by using different techniques. Y-shaped Monopole Antenna meets reconfigurability with wide bandwidth of 42% at 3.5GHz and 7.35GHz. The reconfigurable antennas have that ability to change one parameter keeping other constant, separately to accommodate desired operating requirements.
